Flash On iPhone Will Be Available Soon...

Adobe finally shed light on the development of Flash on iPhone in a Bloomberg Television interview from the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. Adobe and Apple is now working together to bring Flash to iPhone. “It’s a hard technical challenge, and that’s part of the reason Apple and Adobe are collaborating,” Narayen said today in a Bloomberg Television interview. “The ball is in our court. The onus is on us to deliver.”

Well, while Flash is installed on nearly all computer in the world and 800 million handsets, it’s still not available on iPhone. Apple’s Steve Jobs has made a public comment last March that Adobe Flash simply runs too slow on iPhone. And, the Flash Lite, a trimmed-down version of Flash Player, isn’t capable enough to be used with the Web.

Now, it’s good to see Apple and Adobe cooperate to develop a specialized version of Flash for iPhone. However, there is no confirmation on the release date. Let’s hope we can see the Flash release in iPhone firmware 2.4.

iPod Touch 2G Jailbreak: Redsn0w Available

As mentioned in earlier post, iPhone Dev Team has come up with a solution (codenamed redsn0w) to jailbreak iPod Touch 2G. But the jailbreak procedures is quite complex and involves lots of manual procedures. While iPhone Dev Team is on the way to release an intuitive jailbreak tool (similar to QuickPwn) for iPod Touch 2G, they has posted the tethered jailbreak procedures on redsn0w.com for expert users.

Please note that the manual jailbreak method is for expert user and the instructions are designed for Mac, though you can probably work out the procedures for Windows as iPhone Dev Team mentioned.

If you consider yourself as expert Jailbreak user, you can check out the procedures at redsn0w.com. However, as mentioned in the website, use the procedures at your own risk and there will be no support if you encounter any problems. I suggest you to be patient and wait for the release of easy Jailbreak tool.
