CyDelete: Uninstall Cydia Application Directly From Springboard

Cydia is great but one thing I dislike is I cannot uninstall Cydia application directly from home screen (or what so called springboard). In order to remove a Cydia app, you’ll need to launch Cydia and go to package screen to uninstall the app.

The recent release of CyDelete finally solves the uninstallation problem and bring much convenience to iPhone users. CyDelete allows you to uninstall any Cydia application directly from the home screen using the same way as you remove other iPhone applications from App Store.

Install CyDelete Via Cydia

Launch Cydia > Select “Sections” at haptic menu > Select “Tweaks” category > and select “CyDelete” or you can tap “Search” in Cydia and type “CyDelete” > Select “install” button at the right top and confirm it to install.

How To Use CyDelete

You can simply tap and hold on the icon of Cydia application you want to remove. You’ll then see a “X” showing up. Tap the “X” and CyDelete will prompt you for confirmation to remove the Cydia package.

How To Delete Application/Icon On iPhone

Actually delete an application directly from your iPhone is very simple and easy. Instead of forcing you to connect it to your computer, load iTunes, and remove your apps that way. Apple actually made it so that you can remove them no matter where you are and your can sync back to iTunes later.

Just touch and hold an icon (select it which one app do you like to touch on your iPhone "Home Screen") for a few seconds (1-2 seconds) will make your icons ‘wiggle’. For each application and game installed from the App Store(you can’t delete the stock apps) you can see a small "X".


Tap the small "X" at the left top of your icon and you are asked if you want to delete that specific app or not. For example i just tap the small "X" on Hero of Sparta icon. If you tap delete it will actually delete the application and remove the icon without you having to connect your iPhone or iPod Touch to iTunes.
